The gods are not merciful about our distractions or our absent-mindedness. When we have seen light in a certain direction, we have to go further with it and follow the grain until the end of the journey.
When truth has been revealed to us, we cannot go back into the old pattern with our usual silly mistakes. No excuses will be accepted, no justifications can be offered, life is too demanding and we have to hold it in our hands.

I see you are reading a book on Rudolf Steiner. I have just been looking at him for a future blog post! Always been interested but never really followed it up.
Yes, I’ve been interested in Steiner and his ideas for along time without actually knowing a great deal about him as a person. As a gardener I’m especially interested in his ideas on soil and plant growth, but this leads you very quickly to the wider philosophy. There’s so much there! Many people are apparantly put off by the difficulty of his original writing and transcribed lectures, but I have to say that a lot of it makes perfect sense to me. The biography I’m reading was written by Colin Wilson, and it really is very readable; so insightful that it’s made me think again about Wilson’s own work. A good place to start possibly? I’ll be interested to see what you come up with…
Something to take heed of!
Ah yes, it woke me up a bit and helped me realize how often and how easily I’m sidetracked from those things that have real meaning.
